Do you agree that name Pakistan is symbol of religious hate? If yes; then, let us rename Pakistan. Let us SAY YES to the Movement For Renaming Pakistan. Let there be Indus Republic as its new name at once. The name INDUS is deeply rooted in history; and, at the same time, it is free from religious hate. Let us down with religious hate!
As the Renaming of N.W.F.P (North-West Frontier Province) is already under discussion by our Parliament; so, it must include in the said discussion the Renaming of Pakistan too as the Indus Republic.

A very good idea indeed, that will provide a basis for true ethnicity of this region, The cultural and historical role of Indus will bring people together..
ReplyDeletethis is good idea, i support this cause because the name of pakistan is symbole of religious hatred.
ReplyDeleteRenaming Pakistan as Indus Republic ,in fact holds very historic importance and a step towards to recall the ironically long forgotton due to religious bigatory ,the great Indus civilization significance . So to say The Indus Republic will reflect the hitoric geographic which will significantly in broader context will contribute towards the renaissance of cultural ,historic secular values of the Indus valley .
ReplyDeleteI cardially in spirit and letter appreciate and support this wonderful endeavor of comrade GM Lakho sab .

Pakistan means Land of the pure.
ReplyDeleteThe very name has religious connotations. Pakistan, as a state should stand for equality and tolerance for all.
But that is sadly not the case, look at what has been happening to christian minority.
Fanish masih, Imran Masih, Gojra massacre are just some indicators of what is transpiring in Pakistan.
We must change the name of this land so that it has no religious conntations.
We are all human beings, we are born the same, we cry the same, we laugh the same, and we die the same.
Let it be named as INDUS REPUBLIC.
certainly renaming pakistan as proposed by Mr.Lakkho sab will hue for irradicating islamic exremism ,obscurantism and Maudodism from Talibanistan(pakistan),a step taken in the very right diraction in history .
ReplyDeletei strongly support this idea of renaming Obscurantistan to some meaningful ,rational and secular name . Sc A Dirvi.
ReplyDeletei support this proposal

ReplyDelete“YES, NAME OR WORD PAKISTAN IS A SYMBOL OF RELIGIOUS HATE”.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice Idea! Also sounds better and reflects its natural pride!
ReplyDeleteYES, ITS A GOOD IDEa!!!!!!!!!!! I SUPPORT IT.
ReplyDeletei strongly recommended the above idea.
ReplyDeleteindeed, i support the good idea,
ReplyDeleteyes i agree with your good idea.
ReplyDeleteadditionally if the the words Confederation and Secular could somehow be included with Indus this would insure that the historical nations that live within the current boundaries of the state of pakistan and religious minorities can identify with the re named state
ReplyDeletehowever even this attempt may be too late to salvage this "riyasat" owned by the army
nice Idea, after this, rename Iran back into Persia, and who knows, Iraq to Babylon? lol...
ReplyDeleteA very good idea. I fully support a secular republic called the Indus Republic with freedom for all peoples.
ReplyDeleteLakho Sahib you are a champion! Lets have a secular country at peace with its neighbours and an enlightened vision on the path to prosperity. More power to you and to your idea.
ReplyDeleteAgreed... A great idea and I support it
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteI content that the partition was not of India as the state only came into existence after partition. Before that the region was a collection of nations, princely states and colonized territories.
ReplyDeleteThe partition was of the Punjab and the Bengal. I think the entire region of South Asia should be like the EU, but giving every region, Punjab, Bengal, Sindh, Gujarat, etc, etc autonomy. And the Punjab should be one such state within the greaer region.
Pakistan and India are both forced unions.
Dear Mulhid Murtad, thank you for your comment. Yet, you have not answered the question. The question is, “Do you agree that name Pakistan is symbol of religious hate?” This question is still waiting for your answer. With best wishes and profound regards.
DeleteWhat a stupid name. It may have escaped your attention but the Indus does not run through Baluchistan, but its tributaries do run through north-western India.
ReplyDeleteMr. Nadir, thank you for finding time for this comment. Yet, you have not been pleased to answer the question posed in the start. The question is, “Do you agree that name Pakistan is symbol of religious hate?” This question needs your kind consideration; it needs your answer in clear words, in yes or no. Of course, you are free to like or not like any name. If you like the name Pakistan, please say yes, in clear words. If you feel that the name Pakistan is a symbol of religious hate, please say yes. That is all. With best wishes and profound regards.
DeletePakistan word has negative connotation born out of hatred towards other religions. Indus Republic sounds good resonating with the natural and cultural history of the region.
DeleteIn reponse to Hassan Gardezi's article 'Let's rename Pakistan' in Viewpoint, I commented as follows:
ReplyDeleteHassan Gardezi has shown how Pakistan became known as the ‘Islamic republic’. The information he provides is of historical value and worthy of serious discussion. Any state system that is based on any revealed religion is basically a theocracy where the immutable laws of God have primacy and God is the ultimate authority in the affairs of humankind. But republican system is based on man-made laws, which the legislative bodies can repeal, change or create. Thus God-made laws and man-made laws have different sources and different points of reference. Obviously, a theocracy can never be a republic and a republic cannot be a theocracy because they are fundamentally different entities. To claim that they are the same or supplement each other is nonsensical confusion that goes against logic and common sense. Those who make such flimsy claims misuse the name of a world-religon, Islam in this case, and also distort the meaning of republican democracy.

That's true. Islamic culture is the product of its time. It needs continuos improvement. Every moment is revelation by god. God has made human beings intelligent enough to understand the changing nature of societal values. One shud realize that deep down the economic forces play major role than anything else. The creation of wealth is consequence of the cultural values of any society.
Deletethe cultural values of
The multi-headed monster with no brains called 'Islamic republic' has been destroying the people of the region since 1947 and it is time to join the rest of humanity and respect all people as equal human beings by removing this monstrous misnomer. Pakistan can be called Republic of Pakistan or by any other name. But for Heaven's sake, what is this 'Islamic republic'?
ReplyDeleteI agree with this idea of renaming and will support as much as I could.
ReplyDeleteHow can we rename it? I really my country to be called indus republic because that is our true identity history and culture. How can we start this awareness among the masses so that we can starr the process of changing the name?
